I am a new member and I am having a problem setting up my shopping cart. I was able to connect to the database but now when I go to http://www.bodemi.com/vpasp/ to begin customization, I get this error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14'

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Line 1: Incorrect syntax near 'by'.

D:\HOSTING\APPRILLE\VPASP\../vpasp/shopproductsubs.asp, line 353

I am fairly new to SQL Server and I can't figure out how to fix this. Can anyone help?

Edit: When I changed my database type to ODBC I got the same error as in this thread: http://www.vpasp.com/virtprog/vpaspforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6735 Does this mean I should be using ODBC?

it looks like your "xsortcategories" config option might be blank....

if you login to the vpasp admin area on your site, go into site-setup, and search for:
xsortcategories

then set that value to:

catdescription

then you should be ok
