I really like this new add-on but I have 2 suggestions:
1. installation instructions should say to place images in existing images folder, stylesheet in existing stylesheets folder. Otherwise, the scripts' paths could be changed in shoppage header to keep everything in the lightbox650 folder but that only partially works for some reason
2. current script makes an odd window if there is no image available. This happens because of the automatic use of 'no-image.gif' when no image is available. Can we disable the link in that case?
Thanks for the nice add-on!

Anyone else not have the $ <img border="0" src="[extendedimage]" alt=" " id="mainimage"> line in the tmp_product.htm file? I cannot find this line. If it doesnt exist where should I out the <a href="[extendedimage]" rel="lightbox" title="[cdescription]"><img src="[cimageurl]" alt="[cname]" id="mainimage" /></a> line?

line 16 reads:
<img src="[extendedimage]" border="0" alt="[translate cname]" />

replace that one with the line in the instructions (another correction required!)

How about keeping the image on the exteded description page as the large image and still being able to click on it for the popup feature. After adding this addon my pic on the extended desc. screen is much smaller.

Hey Craig,

Why don't u use one of the new image fields in 6.50 and just change the code to:

<a href="[extraimage1]" rel="lightbox" title="[cdescription]"><img src="[extendedimage]" alt="[cname]" id="mainimage" /></a>

IMHO, the light box code should not be used in tmp_product.htm, as the instructions recommend. Rather, it should be used in the template defined in xproductdisplaytemplate- (default is tmp_productformat.htm).
It is also useful in tmp_frontpage.htm.
tmp_product.htm is used as the extended description and should have a full-sized image- again in my opinion.

To display the full-sized image, use this line:
<a href="[extendedimage]" rel="lightbox" title="[cdescription]"><img src="[extendedimage]" alt="[cname]" id="mainimage" /></a>

Yes, I agree with your opinion. I did it and it looks pretty good. Where would you put the code line in on tmp_productformat.htm?

The code goes in the place occupied by the [formatimage sub] tag- about line 12. Use the original light box code, which uses the small image.
You need to be aware that doing this eliminates the link to the extended product description, which I handle by including the extended description in this template. To do so, place [translate extendeddesc] in a location you like- perhaps right after the [translate cdescription]. If your extended descriptions are too complex to handle this way, you can add a link to shopexd.asp like this:
<a href="shopexd.asp?id=[catalogid]"><b>MORE</b></a>
If you have products that need their own template, place the name of the special template in that product's 'Template file' field and shopexd.asp will use it.
VP-ASP is great for this sort of modification!
Have fun with it!
Dan

Must have been removed for some reason.

6 April 2007 - New Add-On
We have just upload a cool new add-on that allows you to add a "lightbox" zoom to your extended description pages. When the customer clicks the image on your extended description, the larger version of it is zoomed and the st of the page faded out. It's really easy to install and is VERY impressive! Check it out at - http://www.vpasp.com/sales/addons600.asp or http://www.vpasp.com/sales/addons650.asp
