Can I use Dreamweaver to edit the VP-ASP Shopping cart pages? Any cautions or things I need to pay attention to? Any inputs/experiences appreciated.

I'd say dreamweaver should be ok, but don't use frontpage (personal opinion only!)

I personally use notepad because I know that'll never corrupt the files.

avoid wordpad because that'll get rid of the the first half of each internal newline character (I think it gets rid of carriage-return and leaves-in line-feed, or something similar)

and never, ever use msword's web-editing stuff.

I use Dreamweaver too and the one trick that VP-ASP support listed a few months back was to copy the SHOPPAGE_HEADER.HTM and SHOPPAGE_TRAILER.HTM into a new blank file because there is at least one table split across these 2 files. Makes it so much easier visually to customize your layout when you can see that outside table in Design Mode.

See this post for a little more detail.

Dreamweaver great tool for VPASP. Better than frontPage. :-)

Also cos way VPASP made you need to take code rewrite to No in Dreamweaver.

In Dreamweaver go to

Edit > Preferences > Code Rewriting

Uncheck top 3 boxes and make sure in the never rewrite code box you have asp and htm and html.

Hope this help
