Further to my question (http://www.vpasp.com/virtprog/vpaspforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6076)
With multiple sites, each with their own set of customers and potentially their own products, how would we maintain order fulfilment across the sites?
Is it possible to have just one central location where we can query the orders across all sites in one go, but any correspondance to the customer is branded as the site they ordered from?
Thanks, Joff

In addition, how are others running multiple sites taking care of SSL at the checkout?
I've always been under the impression that a SSL certificate is only valid for a single domain so would I need a cert. for each site? |

...and another question!
If I'm running a single DB, what happens when a customer who has purchased from Site A logs into Site B? Is there any solution out of the box to filter their credentials based on the site they registered with? |

Dear Joff,
The Product Match functionality of VPASP allows all stores to be controlled from the one administration interface. Each store has their own configuration settings and files, however they share database tables including customers, products, orders etc.
As such, it is certainly possible - and in fact the default functionality of VPASP - to have one central location where you can query the orders across all sites in one go, but any correspondence to the customer is branded as the site they ordered from.
SSL certificates apply to the domain name. If you were to have all of your sites under the one domain name - eg. http://www.yoursite.com/site1 and http://www.yoursite.com/site2 and so on, then only a single SSL certificate is required.
However if you are redirecting different domain names to these folders - eg: . http://www.yoursite1.com and http://www.yoursite2.com then you will need an SSL certificate for each domain.
There are unfortunately no options out of the box allowing you to filter which site the customer registered on however, and this would require a customization to achieve.
Thank you.
