what does everyone advise as far as upgrading to 6.09. Any major set backs to be prepared for. Do I back up all my files on my remote computer first. Also, does the upgrade affect any changes I have made to templates, language, setup, etc...

I am a little weary about upgrading because it took this amateur a lot to get where he is now with his shopping cart.

thanks as always
Dwight

Hey Dwight,

I had a few issues with my upgrade cause i have made a few modifications to my code, but i got in touch with support and the put me onto a program called Winmerge which i used to check the differences between my files and the new ones in the patch.

I could then see what code of mine i needed to copy into the new patched files.

I didn't overwrite any of my template files cause i modified the layout of those previously.

There is a script you need to run with the upgrade but it doesnt affect your config settings or language settings.

And i always make a backup before making any changes to my files... too many mistakes i haven't been able to recover from in the past by not backing up!!!

Good luck with it...

Where can I get WinMerge? I've made so many fixes to the software I can't remember them all.
