is there a way to bypass having to set up an account to be able to order?

I was interested in that too. But looks like to save an order info in database it needs to have an account.
I don't understand why they didn't just combine the order page with registration page, all the info is entered there anyway.
Will be happy to see if anyone has a solution.

It's a bit cumbersome, but you can do it with a combination of settings:
xcheckexistingcustomer = no
xcustomeruserid = no
xlogonrequired = no
xpassword = no
xpromptforlogin = no

I'm sure a couple of them probably isn't necessary, but just to be safe I guess.

I also just downloaded 6.09 and found that they've added xLoginSeparatePage to setup, which from the looks of things, makes the customer form look like how it was in the older versions.
