Getting an interesting hurdle today...

i've converted an access database into mysql, and now everything almost works as it should, except when you click on the products listed on the front page, taking to normally to the extended description, i'm greeted with a message instead reading: 'No template has been specified'

Also, stranger still, the diag_mysqldbtest.asp tells me that it cannot access the DB

quote:
Database Open

Open Messages
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

Database Read FAIL
Please ensure the database is at the physical location shown below.

Verify that the database is in a folder that has both read and write access.

This, HOWEVER i am still able to adjust stuff in the admin area, as well as view products in the cart with no errors. Weird...

Any ideas?

Hi

You might need to check that you have a valid value in your xproducttemplate setting in the shop setup.

By default, xproducttemplate should be set to tmp_product.htm

You may also have invalid values in the "Extended description page" fields of your products.

The diag_mysqldbtest.asp file was recently modified to better handle the different versions of mysql.

If you would like an updated copy of this file, you can either download the Starter Pac of the software from http://www.vpasp.com/virtprog/vpaspdemos.htm or contact us via the helpdesk at https://www.vpasp.com/virtprog/helpdesk and we will forward a copy through to you.

Thank you

Michael
