In shoptellafriend.asp I would like a live link to come up in the message text being sent to the friend. I added it as

I found the perfect gift on <a href='http://www.blah.com' target='blank'>blah.com</a>!<p>
Purchase a hat here.

but when you view it in the browser it looks like the code instead of the result of html formatting.

Please advise.

Dirk, change the apostrophes to quotation marks ( " not ' ), if it is an html page, or even if an asp page (but not in the middle of asp code).

Another possibility is your text editor. Microsoft Word does weird things like curly-quotes which are not ascii text, and this can mess things up (assuming that you might be using Word).
