I am interested in the softgood download feature of VP-ASP. Can anyone tell me how this feature works? I read the VP-ASP manual but it did not explain how the download was processed/delivered. My questions are this: 1) Is the download link emailed to the customer or is it available immediately at checkout?
2) Is the actual location of the file visible to the customer? By that does it look like: http://www.mystore.com/downloads/ebook.exe or is it a link that says "download now"
3) If the customer purchases multiple downloads (say 3 ebooks and 2 software titles) how it this processes? If emailed, is it email with all links or separate emails?
4) Finally, are the links always alive or is there a cookie that prevents the customer from downloading the product again and again?
I'd appreciate any feedback or sites that I can demo
Sincerely, David LeBlanc

If you've got the option pack, you can use secure downloads; that will do what you need. Customers can download from 2 areas: 1) shopthanks (immediately after their payment) 2) review-previous-orders (then click on the order number)
There are some restrictions, but if you want to deal with those restrictions then you can use this addon for multiple-file downloads, labelling, and other enhancements:

If using secure downloads, the user will never know the true path of the file as the link will point to a "download request" page rather than the file itself.
There are various settings for products downloads where you can specify things like how long they remain active for, and how many times people are allowed to download them etc.
