In the default.asp that comes with 5.5, I understand this appended to the URL for "cookieless" sessions. Is it necessary if we don't intend to use cookieless - does it accomplish anything else? Will it make any difference if it's there or not if we do not use cookieless?

TIA.

If you're not using cookieless you don't need it, as all it does it add the websession argument to the urls.

But, having said that, it's obviously good practice to make all the urls compliant with 5.5 logic.

Personally, for such links on our site's retail cart (and in a lot of cases where we build/customise vpasp for clients), we actually use a custom function which turns any asp file link into the full relevant asp/vpasp link, that way we can change the way that all our asp links are formatted from a central place (this includes adding a relative pathname to the front when running from different directories).
