I fired my current host (iPowerWeb.com) for lack of a functioning Windows server and poor support. Can anyone recommend a reliable (but cost-effective) Windows host in the US?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I have struggled for ages to find a decent host, but recently have changed to www.oneandone.co.uk. Set up was easy and as far as all the necessary bits are concerned, you have it all - full rights managment of folders, superpurb stats, simple database creation and editing, phone support (i have used this several times and each time straight away there has always been a person on the other end that understands what your on about and can help you). Basically I think its a very good service.

hope this helps.

Colin

Today is the tommorrow you worried about yesterday.

That only applies to you if you are using an application that deals with amazon.com which I am not.

Update -- I decided to go with CWIhosting. Now I regret it. At noon yesterday our email went down. I submitted a ticket and they responded that they were working on the problem (they don't really respond to phone messages). It's been 24 hours and email still down. It gets worse. The only update I've received from CWI is that all email sent during this time is lost and UNRECOVERABLE. argh!

Thanks for all the suggestions... I should've migrated host sooner but didn't want to take the time/effort.
I would like to use bigyellowzone since they deal with vpasp but their prices are not very competitive. I've chosen webhost4life.com. Will let you know how it goes.

I use webecs.

http://www.webecs.com

I think they have fair pricing. Thier support is excellent. I have been with them for some time now and I am very happy. My site runs vp-asp 5.5 just fine with webecs.

FWIW, I have 3 VP-ASP sites on CrystalTech (http://www.crystaltech.com) and couldn't be happier. They keep you informed via email of any changes, maintenance, or whatever. They also have a great forum where users can help each other too. And you can't beat their developer plans. The other web host I have 3 sites on I wouldn't recommend which is why I'm not mentioning their name.

Check out http://www.jodohost.com ASP/ASP.net and lot more... Free 24X7 live chat support also. SQL Database included. Support is awesome and I am thinking about getting a Reseller account there. I just started 6 month with them but I still host my other few sitest at http://www.readyhosting.com....I am thinking of moving all to jodohost.

Thanks

LOL Bill, that's funny because ReadyHosting is where I have my few other sites and wouldn't recommend them. To be fair I've had one site there for 5 years but every so often the server gets changed, the IP address gets changed, the server goes down and you have to call to let them know, email doesn't work, etc. But they are reliable probably 90% of the time.
