Hi

I have a client who wants to have the clients creditcard details stored for quick repeat orders.

I understand VP-ASP will store credit card details but is there a setting for having this information passed on at the checkout

Also, if this info is being stored on the database, would the database need to be on the secure server or is it safe enough on the normal server

Thanks in advance

Alan

Hi Alan,

It is dangerous to store cards on the server. A better idea if you do take cards on your site is to print the order as soon as it comes in and then process the order. You can change the code simply so the card number is deleted as soon as the order is porcessed.

You will certainly need to have the database stored in a secure folder.

You can encrypt card numbers as well so if someone does manage to obtain your database they cannot use the cards.

The best way to do this is to add a new encryption setting into shophash.asp rather than using the setting in the config.

Hope this helps,
Cam
