I am just setting up VPASP on my local WIN98/PWS/MySql machine and am distressed by how slow the database acces seems.
The initial configuration of the demo store took over 25 min.
The demo store then comes up ok, but clicking on the 'shop' button takes about 6 seconds before it displays the 8 products.

This seems excessive for a local 1Ghz machine.

Does anyone have any hints?

Solution:
Logging turned on in ODBC driver -- 200M logfile
use /Windows/odbcad32.exe to turn off 'tracing'.
