I would like to use the handling fee only if an item is ordered from a specific category. We have some items that need extra packaging and are all in the same category. If a shopper puts one of the items from this category in the basket I would like for the handling charge to be added. I know I can increase the price to cover this extra cost but I would have more flexibility if I could use the handling fee.

I think this can be done by adding some code to shophandling.asp but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help me?

I think you can add handling fee by product as VP-ASP has the in built for it but I am not sure about the category. The way around is to insert handling fee that particular products which are belongs to that category.
If you need to category handling fee, would very simple for you you manage but I hope need customization. If need any further help let me know.

Thanks siraj, Handling charge by product would work also. I'm using version 4. I can't find how to set the handling charge by product.Was this an addition to a later version?

I think handling charge by product is in VP-ASP 5.0 but you can email support and ask for backward compatibility. They might have a solutions for this. If not you got two choices. Upgrade to 5.0 or customize the shophandlling.asp file. If need a hand in customization, mail me.
