We've used the affiliate functionality to create a "club" we expect to have 100's of affiliates.
Each affiliate has hundreds of customers who visit their sites.
Registering the affiliate works perfectly, at the end of the registration the affiliate gets emailed code to add to their site.
The idea is that each of the affiliates' own customers can click on the link to come back to our site and get a 10% Discount and we can pay the affiliate a commission on their customers purchases.
The problem we can't seem to work out is:
1. how each affiliate can be associated with a unique discount coupon
2. How we can pass the discount with the link e.g. http://www.yoursite.com/shopping/shopaff.asp?affid=nnn&coupon=uniquecoupon to pass the coupon into the session so that when the customer checks out the coupon automatically appears in the coupon field.
Creating hundreds of the same 10% discount coupons will not make any of us happy campers, most of the users are non technical and may miss putting in their discount. We'd appreciate all ideas.
