I've facing a particular problem, which I’m sure a number of you have faced. I'm currently setting up an online shop using vp-asp 5. The problem is in calculating shipping costs automatically. At the moment, it is too difficult to calculate shipping costs automatically since there are too many variables involved such as destination, type of product, type of delivery, company of delivery (different company used for local and regional). Does anyone know a solution to this sort of problem?
My proposed solution is:
1. Let the customer order their products through the shop. Don’t include the shipping costs.
2. Admin logs into the admin interface and views the order. He/she calculates the shipping costs by hand, adds it to the order and emails the customer with an invoice.
3. The customer responds to the invoice through the web by accepting or rejecting.
4. Order is the processed as normal.
Does anyone know a solution, which is more streamlined?
