Hello,
Integrator 2.1, which allows for posting of online transactions to QuickBooks, is now available. It is compatible with VPASP and Your Virtual Store versions 3.5, 4 and 4.5.

A 14 day demo and licence purchase details are available from the Our eSolutions web site at: http://www.ouresolutions.com.au

I have e-mail you about this product. It seems to work good other than a few issues how the data is imported. It creates all on-line customers under On-Line Customer? Should it not add each customer so they can all be viewed, instead of show 1 customer as On-Line Customer? It adds each ordered item to the invoice without looking up part number. This creates a huge issues for inventory control. All of our online part numbers match our Quick Book item numbers, so why not look up the part number etc.? Maybe I have missed something......

VP2QB Accounting interface adds all customers. It also invoices by inventory item or category. You can also use cash sales receipt method. Such as all makes ink cartridges can be under Printer supplies or whatever. Your choice as to individual inventory control or just categories.

VP2QB also verifies that each transaction is in balance. So far I have stayed away from the qbXML interface because it is only supported by 2002 Pro and up. Where IIF files are supported by older versions.

Hi,
We decided not to include these 2 elements (stock and separate customers) for the following reasons:
a) The task of including stock control and Customer details is quite involved and the results of our survey showed that the majority of users did not need this functionality as their first priority in the Integrator as they would continue to use VPASP as their stock control and customer management facility - they really just wanted the Sales figures recorded in QuickBooks, either as Sales Receipts or Invoices. In this way we are able to keep the cost of the Integrator as low as possible
b) Regarding the Customer issue in particular, with Integrator the Customer details can still be changed within QuickBooks once the transactions have been added, of course, but we do recognise that such functionality would be desirable for some users, as well as the Stock issue. Consequently, we are including both Stock and Customer details in a more sophisticated version (a "Pro" version perhaps), but the cost of that version would be higher to reflect the extra programming work we would have to do. As the majority did not want that functionality we have left it out of Integrator 2.1 to keep the costs to the majority at a minimum.

I can confirm that we will provide an upgrade cost path when the "Pro" version comes out so that we do not disadvantage anyone who purchases the standard version. However, what we have found is there are still significant time savings for those who require separate Customers who use Integrator to process their online transactions and then use QuickBooks to make any further changes that they require. It will depend on the needs of each user.

Regarding the QuickBooks qbXML/IIF issue, I agree with the observation that qbXML (which is used by Integrator) is compatible only with versions 2002 and later. However we have opted for the qbXML over the IIF interface because Intuit (the makers of QuickBooks) advised us that they are almost to the point of announcing that no new versions of QuickBooks will support the IIF format. Again, it is up to the individual VPASP user to decide whether they are after products that are backward compatible with older versions of QuickBooks or forward compatible with current and future versions of QuickBooks.
