We are using VPASP for our site that sells custom built torque converters. When a customer places an order, I need the ability to collect a bunch of information about their vehicle as well as other performance requirements. I am currently using the UPS realtime interface also.

I was thinking of creating another ASP page that collected this information and saved it to a custom table in the database. My thought was that this custom ASP page could be invoked at sometime during the checkout process and then it could link to the next page necessary during checkout.

For Example:
shopcustomer.asp -> CUSTOM.ASP -> shopreal.asp -> shopcreateorder.asp -> shopcheckout.asp

Has anyone done anything like this? If so, could you lend some insight or guidance?

Thanks,
Tim Berdon

Couldn't you set up features to retrieve this information?

Hi Cam,

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I can not use the VPASP features of custom fields to collect the information. There are about 30 different fields and many of them need to be selected from a dropdown list. I don't see any way in the programmers guide to configure it like that.

Best Regards,
Tim

I think the new upcoming version will have something to handle this.
