Can I send out a message to all my customers from the shopping cart admin area?
I know the cart has the ability to allow someone to sign up for a site's mailing list, but how do you then send a message out to the masses?

From the admin section: Click on EDIT CUSTOMERS Click on MAIL SET UP (link up to the left) Enter your information Create your message Click CONTINUE You should now have another field named MAIL Tic the people you want to send the email to or SELECT ALL Click one of the MAIL buttons.

OK... I just did a mailing. How do I look up just the folks that wanted to be on the mailing list? When I select "MAILLIST" and enter TRUE, ON, 1, or YES, it comes back with no records. I have over 200 customers so I don't want to have to go through all 10 pages to check off who wanted an email every time.

Thanks Cam, looks quite useful.
It doesn’t solve the problem we are having though. Surely someone has a method of simply mailing all customers with maillist set to true without manually selecting them all.

Anyone know how to select just the folks who want the mailing without manually looking through each and every customer record?

I have about 20,000 customers in the DB, most want news updates
the only easy way i have found is to expoet addresses and any other details required to a text file then use a prober bulk mailer tosend the mail.
most bulk mailers allow the use of html, soit is possible to create very goodlooking mails

Does nobody experience ASP Script Timeout when doing mailings?
I increased timeout to 10 minutes but even with just 250 addresses it timed out?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

I believe you can change the timeouts in the file shopa_mail.asp
around line 139 (in version 5.5) locate the line: Server.scripttimeout=500
Change the 500 to however many seconds you think is enough. We use 7200 so that the script can run for 2 hours without timing out.
