| Is there a way to show the shipping charge on the first part of the shopping cart when we click on View Cart on shopaddtocart.asp ? |

Hi there,
in order to calculate the shipping fee, system need to know the "Shipping information". but customers will enter their shipping info (at the shopcustomer.asp) only when they clicked the 'checkout' button at shopaddtocart.asp.
Unless you create a form in the shopaddtocart.asp for customers to enter their shipping info.

I think many visitors don't register at all if they don't know the shipping cost beforehand.
In order to show the shipping price and VAT according to the visitor's country without the need of completing all shipping information, I added a country select menu at the top of the page. Now, when adding a product to the cart, shipping cost (standard mode) and VAT are calculated instantly.
Some code needs to be modified/added to get this done. It may be a suggestion for future releases?

Hi Erik,
I'm interested in doing the same thing for my store, but here in Australia. I've spoken with the helpdesk and they're pushing me towards heir development department for a quote.
They sent me the below link to a site to indicate its feasibility, but were seemingly not willing share or provide me with the know how.

To make the change is a fairly big job, especially when you consider how many different shipping options VPASP supports so it is not something we can really just share by telling how to do it unfortunately.
We will be including this feature in the next major release of VPASP however.

I see its going to be part of the "next major release of VPASP"
When do we see that?
I've been hearing about version 8 of VP-ASP for most of 2012. |

We do not have a release for version 8 as yet.
We do have this feature with one of our modules and it can be seen at:

This only works for Australian merchants currently but if you enter say 3000 into the post code box on the add to cart page it will show the shipping calculation.
We could customise this for you to work with your required shipping method if required.
