I'm fairly new to VPASP and was wondering was is the best way to create a page that is not managed by VPASP but still contained the header, top navigation and footer. I want to add my own body but do not need left and right columns.

Thanks for your time

PD

Kinda of worked but no. The ShopPageHeader displays not only the header but right and left columns. I'm looking for the top navigation bar only. The requirement is for a splash screen and will take the full width of the navigation bar and can't have columns.

Hi,

You might want to contact support team through their helpdesk. Because I think this would need changes on their default code.

Hope this helps!

Hi PD,

So you want to create a new landing page that only has certain elements display?

If so you can certainly do this.

In the template folder you will see there are 2 files:

shopfrontpage_header.htm
shopfrontpage_trailer.htm

These can be modified and used as a landing page.

You can have the store use these pages by opening the admin and going to Website > Layout manager and then clicking on Layout Configuration.

Now set xloadhomepagebodycontent to No.

In the xUniqueFrontpageHeader add the header file name listed above.

And in the xUniqueFrontpageFooter add the trailer file name.

Using the Design Guide you can create a custom page and cherry pick the elements you want to display on the new landing page.

Let me know if you need help!

Thank you.

Hi Cam,

Let me give you a bit more info as to what the customer wants. They are running a national ad and it will contain a link to a sub directory.

Example: www.domain.com/addDir

I'm planning on creating a new Default.asp page under addDir and want only the header and footer. I have already added some logic to the two mentioned files since I needed to remove the columns from the home page. Your thoughts?

Thanks

Hi PD,

Sorry for missing your reply. Did you get this resolved?

As far as I know you cannot easily call the header and footer from a sub directory without some coding being needed. We do this for our site but it needed customisation.

Thank you.
