Here's what I want to achieve:

On the checkout page, at the top, is the standard login form, for people who want to log in and have their info populated. Not mandatory.

At the bottom, under the address area, there is an invitation to create an account for quick future checkout, shown only if there is no user currently logged in. This too, is optional.

I have it looking the way I want it right now, and here are my settings, but it's still requiring that the login at the top be filled in:

xlogonrequired = NO
xpromptforlogin = YES
xcustomeruserid = YES
xallowcustomerregister = YES (I have a separate register page available)

I'm thinking that the problem lies in the "xallowcustomerregister" subroutine, but the way things are written, it's tough to tell for certain.

Thanks in advance for all help.

Seems that I may have figured it out. By adding a vbscript check for the xlogonrequired setting to the places where the userid and password are checked to see if they're blank (the very last step), I managed to sidestep the conflicting code.
