Over the years there are some fairly basic but very handy things that we've needed to do, but where it's surprisingly hard to get the info for how best to do it from the web.
For example, say you want to display a number as an ordinal (eg display "3" as "3rd" etc) - you can trawl google and in the end you'll find some examples of how to do it, but a lot of the examples are wrong, or are in the wrong programming language, or aren't portable, or don't cater for all instances or produce errors with nulls etc.
Some of these seemingly simple things end up being quite large/complex functions to cater for all instances and to do correctly.
Anyway, we thought we'd add a free code snippet library to show some of the simpler things that we've coded-up (we've coded these up for some addons etc and they're in our general internal library to pull-from when we need them). You're all free to use these wherever you want, just make sure you keep the bigyellowzone comments in the code if you use them.
So, here's the first few snippets to get things started, we'll add more over time. If anyone's got any suggestions for snippets for us to code-up then let us know; chances are we've already done it and can post it in our new knowledgebase code library.
