I need to remove the News Highlights block, the BLOG highlights block. Both are located in the main section in the center of the pages.

I also need to remove the blocks in the left column for Language and Currency.

I also would like to remove the Language and Currency dropdowns from the "breadbasket: at top right of the page.

I searched forum for these answers but couldnt find any.

Anyone have a clue?

Try having a look at the layout manager function under the menu item called "website" in your admin.
You can add and delete boxes from your standard v7 template

Jgc, the news and blogs can be removed by using layout manager as well. Just delet body news links and body blog links from the layout manager
