Hi guys,

I've been working on this (off and on) for sometime and have finally found a solution.

The problem:
When a user makes a search on a site the resulting page gives the main title tag which is not very good for seo purposes if someone then posts that link on a forum or such.

Also we have a list of popular searches which produces extra pages (good for seo) but they all have the same title (bad for seo).

The solution:
This was so easy in the end, I could kick myself for not thinking of it earlier.

We use the byz add ons so this won't work if you only have the out of the box vp.

In shopheaders.asp go to Sub Shopdynamictitle(itype) and after the line
value=Getsess(sessionfieldname)
enter the code
if (value="") and instr(lcase(request.ServerVariables("SCRIPT_NAME")), "shopdisplayproducts.asp") > 0then
setsess "sessionfieldname",byz_sls_p_keyword
value=byz_sls_p_keyword & " YOUR OWN PHRASE"
end if
If yo go to our list of popular search terms (http://www.temptationsdirect.co.uk/sex_toys_info_top-searches.html) and click on one of them you will see what I mean - please note we sell adult toys.

We've also changed the links to be more search engine friendly. I just need to get these urls to display when the original search is made.

Hope this helps someone.
