I am upgrading from a very old (YVS 5.0) version to VPASP 7.0. Since there is a LARGE amount of changing to be made, it will take a while and happen in steps. I upload/download files and edit in Dreamweaver and host my site through Alentus.

Is there another way besides having my entire 7.0 version site in a subfolder on my live site that I can go through the upgrade process and check to make sure all the funtions work properly WITHOUT having this on my live site? I'd prefer to have this all in a separate place and then once it is all tested, port the whole thing over and replace my current live site files.

The reason I ask this, is I've seen changes in my 7.0 files affecting my live website somehow and want to avoid these issues.
