Can I point to a url on another website for my images instead of actually uploading every image on my site?

Definitely yes, we do this on some sites, but we are going to be doing it across all our sites shortly as it can speed up your site by allowing components from different urls to be downloaded at the same time.

The way we did it was to go through the files and hardcode the beginning of the url for all images.

So for example:
<img border="0" src="/[extendedimage]" alt="[cname]" title="[cname]">
becomes
<img border="0" src="http://www.yourdomain.com/[extendedimage]" alt="[cname]" title="[cname]">
