Thanks for all the great posts on the site! I have a special situation that I haven't found a solution to in the forums. I am willing to pay anyone to help me solve this as I need it done ASAP.
I have a hosting company and am trying to capture the customer's domain as they are buying a hosting account.
I have tried several things like adding the following code to shop$db.asp and creating a field in the customers and orders table called xdomainname:
==================================
dim strDomainName
Sub GetCustomerSessionData()
strDomainName=getsess("domainname")
Sub UpdateCustomerSessionData
SetSess "domainname",strDomainName
Sub ResetCustomerSessionData
strDomainName=""
====================================
Problem 1: The domain name shows up in the customer info form but for some reason is not getting written as session variable. It is getting written to the tables. When I send out to the financial gateway, I need access to the session variable.
Problem 2: The Domain Name field at http://www.xpancom.com/Shopping/shopcustomer.asp is still not required even though I set the following fields according to spec:
xcustomerothercaptions = Domain Name
xcustomerotherfields = xdomainname
xcustomerotherfieldsinorder = Yes
xcustomerotherrequired = xdomainname
Problem 3: The domain name needs to be validated with JavaScript. I have all the code in the page but haven't implemented it yet in VPASP.
Problem 4: Instead of doing this in the customer form, should it be done as a feature? I tried this but passing it to the customer form, writing it the the DB etc... is not very clear.
Has anyone had any luck with similar processes? Has anyone implemented VPASP with domain names and hosting accounts?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you could offer!
Sincerely,
Mitch Moccia
