Hi There,
Occasionally when an order is completed, my website fails to send out the order confirmations to the customer and to the merchant (me).
Is there a way to re-send the confirmations for a specific order?
Any help would really be appreciated.
Thanks!

On my version of VPASP (6.50.4), on the admin home page, click on "Customers" then "Email Customers" and then at the bottom of the page is the following example of how to use the form displayed:
Example - Re-Mailing a customer's order confirmation:
1. Set the Email field to "[email protected]" 2. Set the Name field to "Your business" 3. Set the Subject field to "Order Confirmation" 4. Leave the type field empty 5. Set the Email Format field to "HTML" 6. Set the Table Name field to "orders" 7. Set the File Name field to "tmp_customeremail.htm" 8. Leave the Attachment field empty 9. Set the Merge with Database field to "Yes" 10. Leave the Message field empty 11. Click Continue 12. You will be transferred to a list of orders. Select the orders that you would like to re-mail 13. Click the "Mail Selected Records" button at the bottom of the Page

Thanks for that!
Well that solved half of the issue. I can use that utility to re-email my customer an order confirmation.
Would you or anybody know of a method to re-email the merchant confirmation?
Apparently, the above utility pulls the "deliver-to" email address from the order so it will always go to the customer. |

I'm afraid I've got to hold my hands up and surrender.
I haven't got the first clue how you would do that.
I'd bery very interested to know how myself though! :-) |

Hi,
I'm fairly sure that it's only the customer that can you can re-mail the order details to from within the admin section. However if you're using Explorer as your browser, and you only want to resend a couple of orders just open the customer's order and then on IE toolbar, click File --> Send --> Page by Email and send it to yourself.

That will certainly work. Thanks for the tip.
I think if I was just a tiny bit proficient with asp, I might accomplish this.
I could copy that asp file that sends the customer his email.
After renaming it to something else, it seems that with just a minor change to the code, I could hard code my email address in it for the destination and then call that new file from my browser.
But alas, I cannot sort it out! If only I had paid attention in asp class (kidding).
Thanks for your help guys!

If the email does not go out it generally means the customer has not landed on shopthanks.asp after paying at a 3rd party gateway such as Paypal.
To ensure your emails are sent, stock is lowered etc you can go to the Order detial page in your VPASP admin and click on Finalize Order.
This will act as if the customer had returned to your site after making payment and generate the emails to all parties and all other shopthanks functions.
Hope this helps
Thanks Cam
