I am trying to add a line of text to the top of shopdisplaycategories.asp pages. After gaining some advice of a kind member of this forum I have done the following.
Created a html file with the relevant text at the top of the page. (seanscatheader.htm)
uploaded this to site.
Gone admin --> Edit Categories. Clicked on the record I want this header in.
Typed seanscatheader.htm in the cat extra field.
Checked that all the fields are 'Yes in xcategory in cart setup.
Still no Joy with this. Does anyone have a soloution!
Thanks

Hi paddy,
I've jsut realised what you are actually trying to do. I'm sorry but I thought that you wanted the header at the top of the category when it was showing the products.
To achieve what you are looking for, go into your Admin --> Occasional --> Languages --> Edit Language and search for keyword langcat01. Edit this by adding your own text to the caption which should read Product Categories. Save the record, reset your language (important) and you should now see your text at the top of shopdisplaycategories.asp

You could also try removing all the head and body html code in your template and just leave the following:
<p align="left"><b><font face="Verdana" size="2" color="#000080">For a full range of items, select the product catogories below</font></b>
This template can be added to any of your category records in the Cat Extra field

In admin look for the setting xdisplaycategoryfiles and make sure this is set to Yes. If this fails I'm sorry, but I'm stumped. I use category header templates occasionally throughout our site with no problems, but I don't have any category descriptions under the images. How have you set that up?

I am not sure I am only editing the site I didn;t build it, although I think its been done in tmp_categorytemplate.htm.
There is already template file in place for the catogory page. tmp_categorytemplate.htm. Could this pose a problem? It doesnt appear in the catextra fields though.
I have tride putting the text at the top of this template, but the text is just duplicated accross every category image.
Cheers |

I'm sorry paddy, I've run out of ideas. Hopefully someone else may pick up on something we've missed.
