VPASP v6.5 and Server 2008 64 bit using MySQL

Strangely enough I can get it to work using ODBC connection on Server 2008 (downloading the driver from MySQL) using all the same user name and password, but I still can not manage to connect using MySQL connection directly

I do use MySQL for a number of other websites so I know it is not a MySQL issue.
