Hi Everybody,

I just realized that I have a different page rank for www.mywebsite.com and for www.mywebsite.com/default.asp.

Do you know a way to combine these 2 different ranks into a single one (that, I hope, will be the sum of the two...). 301 redirect is maybe one of them but I struggle finding the asp code that works into my default.asp page.

Thanks in advance,
Marc.

Hi mmaillar

Sometimes it takes 2-3 month until google updates his page rank so maybe that what you see at the moment may not be accurate to the your actual page rank. Try to ping it in oreder to make the process a little bit faster.

Also try to backlink from default.asp webpage to the main index page.

Hope this one is helps,if you need more advice feel free to contact me

Hi Marc,

Another thing you might like to take a look into is canonical links.

You basically make a modification to your headers which tells the search engines the "preferred url" for a particular page.

This post details how this works:
http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2009/02/specify-your-canonical.html

To implement this on your site you might also need to create separate headers for your VPASP files as per this post:
