what is the process that allows my banner to stretch across the majority of the browser. There must be some programming languange that allows the software to automatically adjust the size of the banner based on the size of the browser screen.
Right now my banner is set to the default 640.

The are loads of ways to do this, the main ones being javascript.

However none of them are quaranteed to work as it depends on the settings of the users browser.

If you have a fixed width site, the best thing to do is have a fixed width banner.
