Hi,
I have checked the forum and found a number of issues, some conficting, regarding Canadian GST.
1 Issue is that Canadian GST should reflect GST and PST (or QST) on different lines of the invoice.
2 Some provinces are charge GST and PST (or QST). The GST is charged first. In some cases, PST is charged on the total after GST, others charged on total before GST.
3 Some provinces are charged only HST, which is a combination of GST/PST
4 Invoice should reflect both the GST and PST registration Numbers
In some posts, it is said that there is a Canadian tax module but that it is incomplete. I am unable to download it because the subscription is over 1 year. I was led to believe this add on is not necessary for the 6.5.
Can some one in support tell me what the exact status is on this. I would certainly hope that VPASP meets the tax requirements of Canada.

GST= Goods and Services Tax (TPS in French)
PST = Provincial Sales Tax (TVP in French)
QST - Quebec Sales Tax (TVQ in French)
HST = Homogenized Sales Tax (Federally collected combination of GST and PST) |
