I uploaded some images for two of my products. They are small images, yet the image size was blown up to fill the left 60% or so of the product description (short description).

Is there any way to get these images to display their actual sizes?

Figured this out too. The images display 100% in ratio to the page. Saved a small version of the image and it looks fine.
