I want to split test an idea I have about random products on the frontpage of the site. So I am going to set it up on a different site to our main site first.

The problem is how to call the random products.

All the settings in xfront........ are correct, but I can't get them to display. We use default.asp and have it call a number of other files so that we can change these smaller files easily.

The code for the default page is currently:
<%Option Explicit%>
<!--#include file="shop$db.asp"-->
<!--#include file="shoprandomproducts.asp"-->
<%InitializeSystem%>
<%shoppageheader%>
<!-- #include file="z_default_top.htm" -->
<!-- #include file="z_default_category_links.htm" -->
<%shoppagetrailer%>

I have tried to add
[Add_randomproducts]
and moved
<!--#include file="shoprandomproducts.asp"-->
but neither work. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Hi Steve,

you could create your own home page by altering the design and layout of tmp_default.htm then adding the call [Add_randomproducts] to the template wherever you want the products to display on the page.

I don't use the random products feature, but I've just tested it by adding [Add-randomproducts] to the tmp_default.htm and it works fine, but I don't have any additional file calls in default.asp so it could be one of them that is causing a conflict. If you're sure that the xfront... fields are set correctly for random display, then this may be one for support to look at.
