VP-ASP is written in Active Server Pages (ASP). This is Microsoft's programming language for the web. It will run on Windows Hosting companies.

Can I run VP-ASP on my Windows PC?

Can you run VP-ASP on your own PC? Yes.

However, even though ASP is Microsoft's programming language for the Internet, and Windows is Microsoft's operating system for your PC, Microsoft decided not to allow ASP to run under all Windows systems.

Do you have any of the following?

• Windows NT
• Windows 2K
• Windows XP Professional
• Windows Vista

Then you can run ASP and therefore VP-ASP

Do you have any of the following?

• Windows XP Home
• Windows ME

Then you cannot run ASP and consequently, our VP-ASP software. Microsoft has not added support into the above two versions of Windows to display ASP files.

When will VP-ASP not run

Some ISPs are not web hosting companies. That means that allow you dial up Internet Access and allow you to create a web site but they do not support ASP or databases.

ASP is simply HTML that has program logic around it. VP-ASP requires a database to hold product details, orders, customer details. If your ISP does not support ASP and databases, then VP-ASP will not run.
